1. Can I register for programs if I am an international student?
Yes, because this course is primarily online, you never have to actually travel to the school. Call to register.

2. How long does it take to complete a program?
All of our programs are self-paced and open enrollment. When you register for a program, you are given 6 months to complete the program.

3.  What if I don't have enough time to complete my program within the time frame provided?
If, after a concerted effort, you are still unable to complete, your Student Advisor will help you work out a suitable completion date. Please note that a fee may be charged for an extension.

4. Do I have to buy additional materials?
No.

5. Can I get financial assistance?
Canterbury's PC Pro is not a college credit courses, so it does not qualify for federal aid. CTA scholarships may be availible. Call for details.

6. What happens when I complete the program?
Upon successful completion of the program, you will be awarded a certificate of completion.

7. Who will be my instructor?
Each student is paired up with a facilitator for one-on-one interaction. The facilitator will be available (via e-mail and by appointment) to answer any questions you may have and to provide feedback on your performance.

8. What software or hardware do I need in order to take online programs and what are the system requirements?
In order to take our online programs, you must have access to a computer and the Internet. You can access the program contents from any Web-enabled computer.

9. Can I use a Mac?
Yes.

Our programs are all open enrollment. You can register and start the program as soon as you are ready.

12. Does this program prepare for a certification?
Yes, this program currently prepares for the Testout PC Pro Exam, the CompTIA™ A+ Exam 220-901, and the CompTIA™ A+ Exam 220-902.

What You'll Learn...

Throughout this program, you'll study the fundamentals of information technology, including hardware and PC support. You'll build practical job skills that enable you to install, maintain, and troubleshoot devices, as well as establish a foundation of security knowledge and customer service skills.

Students will not only learn through videos and text lessons, but they'll gain real-world skills using LabSim, an interactive lab simulation technology. LabSim gives students the opportunity to practice evaluating, analyzying, and configuring hardware and software. Not only will they be well prepared to take three industry certifications, they'll have the skills employers are looking for.

Rather than gaining experience with only one OS, this course will require students to complete basic tasks in many different operating systems and interfaces, including Windows 10, Windows 7, Linux, iOS, BIOS, and more. Windows 8 is also covered in demonstrations, text lessons, and questions.

Prerequisites

To enroll in this program, you should have basic knowledge of computer hardware and operating systems—for example, how to power up and log on to a machine, how to use a mouse and keyboard, and basic Microsoft Windows navigation skills.

This program is for you if you're interested in pursuing a career in information technology, specifically related to PC technology. This program will prepare you obtain a CompTIA A+ Certification designation. After completing the program, you're encouraged to set up your own exam dates and times at a testing center close to you. Test fees and dates are not included as part of this program.

This program is compatible with the Windows 7 and later operating systems and all current internet browsers.

This program can be taken on either a Mac or a PC. You'll need to have e-mail capabilities.
